Dashlane Adds Secure Password Generation And Form Autofill To Any Web Site

iOS: Dashlane, one of our favourite secure password managers, has updated its iPhone app today. Dashlane now has the ability to securely autofill forms with your data and generate strong passwords for new accounts that are automatically saved to your Dashlane account.

When Dashlane unveiled its iPhone app back in April, it worked well but was lacking the Safari intehration needed to really make its features worthwhile. The new version of the app partially solves that problem via its own built-in browser that has access to your Dashlane data.

Once installed, creating a new account on any site, whether you’re signing up for an internet forum or you’re shopping at a retailer you’ve never visited before, is much easier. Dashlane adds it for you automatically, and even creates a strong password to keep that account safe. All of that information is saved in your Dashlane account, so you can manage it from your phone or your desktop.

Dashlane is still completely free to use, although the service now offers premium accounts ($US5/month or $US40/year) which include the ability to store secure notes in your Dashlane account, early access to mobile app features and priority support. Today’s update also includes a Dashlane plugin for IE, adding to the already-available plugins for Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
