Stop Ice Cream Cones Leaking With A Marshmallow

If you serve ice cream in cones, you can avoid the inevitable leakage from the bottom of the cone as the ice cream melts by dropping a marshmallow inside before you scoop the ice cream in. The marshmallow will soak up the ice cream, you’ll get an extra tasty treat at the bottom of the cone, and you won’t have to rush off to wash your hands as soon as you finish eating.

This tip is so simple I’m surprised I hadn’t seen it sooner. Instead of wrapping paper or a paper towel around the bottom of the ice cream cone, a simple marshmallow will keep the cone from leaking while you enjoy your frozen treat. Even better, if you’re serving a group (or children), it’s one more way to keep your guests clean and happy — and not all using your bathroom to wash melted ice cream off their hands.
