Dolphin Browser Gets Even Faster On Android

Android: Dolphin Browser HD, our favourite web browser for Android, just released a new beta that comes with serious speed boosts.

The new “Dolphin Engine” has improved HTML5 and CSS3 performance, as well as hardware acceleration and a few other backend features. The look of the browser hasn’t changed much, but the company says that the new engine makes Dolphin Browser HD the fastest HTML5 browser available for the Android platform. More specifically, it claims that it is 5-10 times faster than the default Android browser. Check out the video above for a side-by-side test with other Android browsers.

Because the new Dolphin Browser is in beta, it’s not yet available in the Google Play store. However, you can download and install the APK file now. It’s compatible with all Android devices running Android 2.0.1 Eclair or higher.
