Turn A Fence Gate Into A Kitchen Pegboard

Pegboards are handy to keep tools handy and can find many uses in a kitchen, but few people want to look at a standard wooden pegboard. If you have access to an old chain-link fence gate you can make a functional and attractive kitchen pegboard by mounting the gate and using S-hooks to hang pots, pans and kitchen gadgets.

Household Repurposing weblog Dishfunctional Designs shares this innovative way to reuse an item that would seem destined for a landfill. The authors mounted the gate as-is for a rustic look, but it could easily be spray-painted whatever colour you’d like if rusty steel doesn’t work for you. I imagine you can find this type of gate at most building material thrift stores.
