Use A Coffee Sleeve As A Makeshift Lens Hood

Camera lens hoods aren’t expensive, but that doesn’t mean you’re always going to have one with you when you need it. DIY Photography got a submission from Flickr user Nick Cool that shows you can easily jury rig a lens hood from a coffee sleeve.

We’ve talked about the handiness of a lens hood to prevent lighting tricks from ruining a shot, but when you’re out taking photos, none of that really helps you. Chances are you can find a coffee sleeve pretty easily if you’re in the city and sliding it over the lens of the camera might be enough to help you get that perfect shot.
