If your desktop doesn’t calm you and put you in the mood to work as soon as you sit down, before you open any applications, it might be time to switch it up a bit and build something that relaxes you instead of makes you anxious. Flickr user James Enloe wanted just that for his setup and the result is a gorgeous wallpaper, a dash of inspiration and some well-placed GeekTool additions to his desktop.
If you’d like the same look for your Mac, here’s what you’ll need to get it:
- The wallpaper from Wallbase.
- The GeekTool system monitor and configuration utility for Mac OS for the weather, the quote in the centre of the screen and the time/date.
- The Geeklets required for the weather and current conditions display.
- The Simple Floating Clock utility to for… the clock, of course.
- The LeopardDocks app to customise the dock.
That’s all there is to it. This one is remarkably easy to set up if you want it for your very own, and all of the utilities required to make it happen are completely free to download and use.
