If you have a lot of high heel shoes taking up space in your closet consider mounting a kitchen rod such as the IKEA Bygel to hold your high heels.
IKEA Hackers recommends using the Bygel rod in particular, but this tip will work for any similarly-sized kit. If you have pets that chew or scratch leather items, you may save quite a bit of money using this method.

I wouldn't recommend mounting this straight onto the wall though. Better to affix a large perspex or similar protective layer between the wall and the kitchen rod. Otherwise the heels (especially the small metal heels of stilettos) will make a mess of the wall with scratches, dirt and dints.
