You can store just about anything in the freezer, including sauces like pesto or tomato sauce. However, it’s annoying to have to thaw an entire batch every time you want to use it. Food weblog The Kitchn points out that ice cube trays are perfect for freezing single serving portions.

This isn’t the first time we’ve mentioned the glory of ice cube trays around here. Not only are they great for freezing leftover wine for cooking later and portion-controlled snacks, they can freeze a single serving of just about anything. The sauce one particularly hit home for me, since it’s something I deal with a lot. Never did I think to just freeze lots of tiny portions.
