Dolphin Browser For iOS Unveils Nuance-Powered Voice Search

iOS: Dolphin Browser may be our favourite web browser for Android, but the iOS version is no slouch either, and today the folks behind Dolphin updated it with the same voice search features that Android users have had for a while now.

Dolphin “Sonar” is built right into the browser and allows you to shake your device or tap the microphone icon to initiate a voice search, access bookmarks,or visit your favourite pages.

Unlike Siri on the iPhone 4S, Sonar is closely integrated with the browser specifically, and while it can also perform web searches, Sonar can do site-specific searches (for example, finding a particular friend on Facebook or a specific article on Lifehacker), bring up a bookmarked page and navigate through it, open a new tab, switch tabs, or even scrolling up or down on a page. The update is included in the new version of Dolphin Browser for iOS, available in the iTunes App Store for 99c.
