Create An Auto-Updating Folder For Your Photo Stream Pictures From iCloud

Mac: The Photo Stream feature in iCloud is a handy way to keep your files in sync across devices, but it’s lacking an easy way to pull a single image out of a folder for quick use. If you’d like a truly simple and seamless way to pull your photos from the cloud directly to your desktop, designer John Marstall has a simple trick.

The end goal for Marstall was to set up a system so he could easily pull screenshots off his iPhone without having to go through Dropbox or send an email, but you can use this method to gain quick access to any of your Photo Stream files without having to load up iPhoto. With both your iPhone and your Mac set with Photo Stream enabled, you’ll need to track down a hidden Library folder, save that folder to the sidebar, and then add it to the Dock. Now you’ll have an always updating folder filled with you images. Hit up the blog post below for a full walkthrough on how to enable it for yourself.
