Bake Potatoes In A Slow Cooker Or Microwave

Many people dislike how cooking dinner ends up overheating the house. Baked potatoes are a common side dish that can be cooked easily in a microwave oven or in a slow cooker.

Crafts weblog Skip to My Lou gives an easy method for baking potatoes in a slow cooker: after washing and drying potatoes, cover each individual potato in foil and place in the slow cooker on low heat for eight hours.

Alternatively, you can microwave a potato. First, pierce the skin of each potato several times with a fork so steam can escape while microwaving. If your microwave doesn’t already have a potato button, the rule of thumb is an 230g potato takes seven minutes to cook or 11 minutes for two potatoes.

Which method you use depends on your circumstances. If you have a large family, it may be easier to cook lots of potatoes together in a crock pot than trying to time the microwave so all the potatoes are ready. Keep in mind that these methods also work well for a sweet potato.
