Microsoft, Nokia Running AU/NZ WP7 Workshops This Month, Nokia Lumias Up For Grabs

Microsoft and Nokia will be running free development workshops for the former’s Windows Phone OS, starting from next weekend. If you’re digging WP7 and call Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Auckland your usual habitat, then you might want to check them out. Yes, it’s about as short notice as you can get, with the first event scheduled for February 16-17, but MS and Nokia plan to hand out one or more Nokia Lumia handsets, which sweetens the deal significantly.

The dates are as follows:

  • Sydney: February 16-17
  • Melbourne: February 20-21
  • Brisbane: February 23-24
  • Auckland: February 27-28

More specific tidbits, such as an addresses to turn up at, are available from the official registration page.

The Lumia sadly won’t be a door prize, with Microsoft’s Dave Glover stating on his MSDN blog that a “great App Challenge” would be involved. No other details were provided.

Regardless, if you’re looking to develop for WP7, already do, or are just interested in .NET and C#, rocking up isn’t such a bad idea.
