Instead of spending loads of money on a smartphone stand for your device, head to the closet and grab the box that your phone shipped in. If you still have it, it’s really all you need to build a stand. Over at Instructables, user Makedo-able follows up on his previously mentioned laptop stand with a similar one for phones.
Granted the walkthrough is part how-to and part advertisement for the hand saw, pins and other construction toy sets that Makedo sells in their shop. If you have the saw and the pins, you can breeze through this, but if not a pair of scissors and some glue will get the job done as easily. When you’re finished, you’ll have a phone stand that looks pretty good. If you have a device with a micro-USB port on the side, you can charge it while it rests in the stand.
