OldChromeRemover Frees Up Disk Space Used By Old Versions Of Chrome

Windows: We’ve mentioned before that Chrome stores old versions on your hard drive, which can eventually take up lots of space. OldChromeRemover is a simple app that will free that space back up for you.

When we first talked about Chrome’s practice of storing old versions on your drive, we weren’t sure how widespread the problem is. It still seems to be a popular issue though, with some people finding that Chrome is wasting a gig or more of space on their main drive — which, if you’re using an SSD, is a lot. Some people notice no problems (we haven’t seen a pattern yet). Luckily, you don’t need to do a lot of work to see if your drive needs cleaning. Just download OldChromeRemover, run it once, and it’ll delete all those old Chrome versions (and tell you how many there were). It’s handy to have around in your portable apps folder just in case you need a bit of extra space on your C: drive.

OldChromeRemover is a free download, Windows only. Note that if you use multiple Chrome versions, like Canary and Stable, you don’t want to use this, as it will delete one of them. Only use this if you have one version of Chrome installed.
