This old Chinese proverb reminds us to stay motivated and get things done by reminding us that doing nothing only leads to lethargy.
Whether you’re avoiding the work you have to do today or scared to face more personal goals, it’s time to get up and do them, as standing around isn’t going to make you feel any better. If you’ve ever spent a Saturday doing absolutely nothing, you know exactly how this feels — a lot of times, getting nothing done can only make you feel more exhausted than a busy day does. Use that knowledge as motivation to keep on trucking, or you could find you feel even worse than when you started.

Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 11:06 AMI feel lethargic and unmotivated all the time. The things I need or want to do aren’t tough, they’re just a hassle. So I have a kind of mantra: just go through the motions, and before you know it, it’s done.
Getting up in the morning; household chores; cooking; shopping – it’s a matter of adding momentum to the task and then not getting in the way of the rolling stone. I just let myself go through the motions, and somehow end up with a finished task.
