Rainmeter 2.1 Improves Now Playing Plugin, Simplifies Skin Management

Windows: Rainmeter, one of our favourite desktop customisation tools, just updated with a number of enhancements, like a consolidated settings window, an improved Now Playing plugin, and more.

The biggest thing Rainmeter fans will notice in this new update is the new NowPlaying plugin, which supports a ton of different music players (from MediaMonkey to MusicBee to Spotify to Zune) and can display the track and album art as well as control, shuffle, and even rate the music right from your desktop.

They’ve also consolidated RainBrowser, RainThemes, RainBackup, and Rainstaller into one, easy-to-use window — no more running all over your settings menus just to manage your themes. Now, everything is available from Rainmeter > Manage. They’ve also made Rainmeter even lighter on resources. Hit the link below to see what’s new, or just head over to Rainmeter’s home page and install 2.1 over your existing Rainmeter setup to update it.

Rainmeter is a free download for Windows only.
