Get Your Plants Drunk On Flat Beer To Strengthen And Revive Them

Apparently getting your plants drunk is a good idea. We’ve already seen how vodka can help flowers, and now Hack College, the blog of student-centric life hacks, suggests beer can do wonders as well.

I have a little indoor plant to spruce up my apartment, and using a bit of beer can actually help fertilize it and keep it growing strong. Use a small amount of a flat beer just at the base of the plant. If you have a house with some roommates, and your yard is prone to ugly brown patches, you can pour flat beer on that too. The acids in beer kill off fungi and pests, and the fermented sugars feed the grass.

While we’re happier drinking our beer than handing it over to mother nature, sometimes you just end up trying a beer you don’t like or leaving an unfinished bottle out overnight. When that happens, use it to fertilise you plant. Your household greenery deserves a little fun once and a while, too.
