Create A Secret Compartment In Your Hat To Keep Your Valuables Hidden

Say you’re out and about and you get approached by a not-so-friendly mugger. You can carry around a fake wallet in your pocket for such an occasion, but keep the real one in the awesome secret compartment in your hat. Instructables user sherrycayheyhey can show you how to do it.

All you need is the following:

  • A boonie hat (can be found online or at a military surplus store)
  • Sturdy fabric
  • A pair of scissors
  • Some thread
  • A needle
  • A zipper (buy one or rip it off something you’ve got, like a CD case)
  • Pins and other sewing items you may optionally want to use

Basically all you need to do is cut the fabric in a circle to fit inside the hat, cut a line in that circle to add the zipper, so the zipper on, and then sew your newly made compartment into the hat. You’ll have a much harder time figuring out all the stuff you’re going to now store in your head. For the entire run-down, hit up full post over at Instructables.
