Zerply is a social network geared towards professionals that lets you create an attractive online profile/resume and use it to connect with other people in your line of work. It’s simple to use, does the majority of the work for you, and has a handful of attractive themes to choose from.
The idea of joining another professional network is probably not all that appealing at this point, but if you’re ready to move on from LinkedIn you can do that pretty easily with Zerply. If you’ve entered any relevant information about yourself into LinkedIn or Facebook, Zerply can just import it so you don’t have to go through the trouble of inputting your info all over again. From there you can just choose a theme, tweak settings so everything works and looks the way you’d hoped, and you’ve got an attractive public profile/resume all ready to go.
Additionally, Zerply lets you find similar professionals by searching tags and locations. It’ll help you find people in your existing address books as well, by importing contacts, but if you’re looking to connect with new people the tag search is your best bet. Right now Zerply is still pretty new, but it’s shaping up to be a really great alternative to the existing professional social networks.
