Gym Genie Offers Workout Routine Videos On Your Smartphone

Android/iOS: New to working out and not sure how to properly do seated chess presses or standing spider curls? Choose which muscle groups you’d like to work and Gym Genie will choose 5 random exercises for each group and display video tutorials on how to properly execute each exercise.

Gym Genie is an app based on the popular workout site Muscle Prodigy. The app is available for both iPhone and Android, but you can tell that the Android version is just a basic port; there are no settings and the menu looks a bit wonky on the non-standard screen resolution of my LG Optimus V, as you can see from the screenshot above.

In total there are 237 videos that demonstrate excercises for the following muscle groups: triceps, biceps, legs, back, chest, abs, shoulders and forearms. You can of course find these for free on YouTube, but the accessibility and the random workout generator function make the app worth a dollar if you’re in the gym and can’t remember how to do a hammer curl.

Gym Genie is a $0.99 download in the Android Market or iTunes App Store.
