If I understand it correctly, a service outage means the web service doesn’t work. The tivo will still record your favourite soapies because it does this as a standalone device.
Tivo does not stop working because the web is down! It stores 2 weeks of program data. I do not expect the majority of users, such as me, to notice any difference.
