Vodafone Outlines Playbook Postpaid Bundles

The BlackBerry PlayBook went on sale outright this week with prices starting from $579, but some people prefer to buy devices on contract. Vodafone is the first local cab off the rank here, offering a number of bundles which combine the PlayBook with the Bold 9780 handset.

That packaging makes sense; as the current PlayBook model doesn’t include a 3G slot, there’d be no point in buying a standalone PlayBook as part of a contract deal including a SIM. Vodafone is offering the bundle with its full range of Infinite and regular cap plans, though given that the entry-level plans don’t include the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) option needed for BlackBerry email, we’re not quite sure why they bothered. There are also 12 month options, though as usual these involve very high extra monthly handset charges. Hit the link for the full listing.

Telstra and Optus are also scheduled to sell the PlayBook (presumably with similar bundles in some cases), but haven’t announced pricing yet.
