My Concept Rules: We Have A Winner

Yesterday, the four finalists in our My Concept Rules contest to develop a great Windows Azure app presented their apps to the judging panel. It was a tough call, but eventually a winner was chosen: Time 2 Roster, presented by James Eling.

The concept of Time 2 Roster is a cloud-based mobile rostering app aimed at small business. As James’ entry put it:

Simple rosters, fast. No more pen and paper or carrying your PC around with you. Time 2 Roster is planned to be a multi tenanted Windows Azure application running on SQL Azure using a Silverlight interface. Continue rostering whilst on a plane or otherwise away from the internet and then reconnect and the changes sync up to the cloud. The Silverlight interface will be combined with the AppFabric Caching Service to ensure that each customer receives the lowest latency and richest experience.

James will now get the chance to further develop his concept with consulting assistance from Readify’s Windows Azure Technical Specialist Steven Nagy, as well as a six month subscription to Windows Azure. You’ll also see the product advertised on Lifehacker and Gizmodo in the future. Thanks to everyone who entered, and to Microsoft and Windows Azure for making the contest possible.
