Gmail People Widget Provides Added Context to Your Messages

Today Google announced a new Gmail People Widget to provide contextual information about the people in your address book from within Gmail. The widget shows you details about the people you’re interacting with in a given message and provides shortcuts for chatting with and replying to them.

This is one of Google’s gradual rollouts, so if you’re not seeing it already, you should should sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Heh, this seems strikingly similar to the xobni gmail addon which I signed up for a month ago. It’ll be interesting to see how the two compare.

As the post notes, it’s a typical Google gradual rollout; patience is the only solution.
