There seem to be two main growth areas for Australian web sites in 2011: group deal providers, and sites aggregating all those group deal providers. Deal Compactor is the latest entrant we’ve heard about in the aggregator category, and emphasises its ability to collate deals from multiple sites into a single email.
The site (which has expanded into Australia after originating in the US) aims to also identify specific addresses for “experience” deals such as spas and restaurants, though this didn’t seem to be functioning particularly well when I dropped by. Cities listed as supported in Australia are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Canberra, Hobart, Wollongong and “Sunrise” (no, me neither). Sites tracked includes Cudo, DealMe, Groupon, Living Social, Ourdeal, Scoopon and Spreets.
As with all aggregation sites, whether this is useful to you will depend on how much time you want to spend bargain hunting. You’ll need to sign up with individual deal providers to actually buy into the deals.

Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 9:01 PMI’m more focussed on products than services, so all the aggregated daily deal sites are available via http://dealdump.com.au/ :P
http://www.allthedeals.com.au/ is OK, has more sites, but I find it visually and functionally awful. }(

They cover most cities, only thing is you need to signup, but you can just sign in with facebook, so that takes care of it.
