Files that can be converted to PDF include those from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Wordperfect, OpenOffice and StarOffice. Plaintext, RTF and most image formats are also supported. A file manager is included in the app, but files can be converted by sending them from other apps using Android’s share function.
It’s a steep price to pay for any mobile app, but CreatePDF is actually using Adobe’s online PDF service of the same name, which normally costs $US9.99 per month. Using the online service for all the heavy lifting means the app’s performance isn’t dependent on the device being used, so even weaker phones will be able to make use of it. It also means the app takes up very little memory.
