Despite being bombarded with many instructions when you start up the app for the first time, it’s actually pretty intuitive. You take (or import) a photo, drag an arrow along the wall to designate a measurement line, and then enter its length. While you draw you’ll see a magnification of the end of the arrow to help you place it more accurately. You can add arrows for pretty much any measurement, repeat the process for several photos, and use Photo Measure to organise all your visual measurements so they’re easy to bring up when you need them again.
While this won’t be a useful app for everyone, when you’re making your next move it very well could be. I tested the iPhone version but my bet is that it’s a lot better on the iPad (especially if you end up with an iPad 2 and can use it to take photos directly).
Photo Measure Lite is available right now in the iTunes App Store for free, which gets you both an iPhone/iPod touch and iPad app. A pro version is available for $4, though the lite version seems to do just fine.

If you traced out the lines it should be able to calculate any data you dont enter, such as angles or distances.
THEN it would be a really useful app.
