Jolicloud 1.2 Adds Integrated Dropbox, Better Cloud-Based Desktop

All systems: Jolicloud, the Chrome-OS-like desktop you can access anywhere, is moving forward with its vision of a web-based desktop everywhere: Windows systems, netbooks, much older computers or inside your current browser. The latest OS and web app releases improve the boot-up experience and integrates Dropbox storage.

What’s new in Jolicloud 1.2 depends on how you’re looking at it, and from where. If you’ve installed the OS (Joli OS) as a side-boot to Windows, or on a netbook or older PC, you’ll see some notable improvments, especially in the areas of boot-up and login. If you’re using Jolicloud as a Chrome start page, or through its own Chrome Store app, you’ll note that your web-stored Dropbox files now act as a kind of local file system when you’re inside Jolicloud. New wallpapers and sharing functions, and the latest versions of Chromium and Flash in the desktop versions are nice touches too.

You can read up on where Jolicloud is headed in a blog post on its new direction. Get the details on the latest update at the link below.
