Notifixlite Notifies You Of RSS Updates Via Instant Messages

While you wouldn’t want in-your-face updates for each of your RSS feeds, there may be certain feeds that require more urgent action. Instead of sifting through your feeds to find them, free serice Notifixlite will IM you when it updates.

With all the RSS feeds I read each day covering my favourite blogs and news sites, certain specialty feeds (like the one provided by previously mentioned Album Reminder) can get lost in the swarm. If you have a particular feed for which you’d like more present notifications, Notifixlite is a cool way to do it. All you need to do is add [email protected] as a contact to your IM client using an XMPP account (like GTalk), and IM it using the following commands:

  • /subscribe _url_: subscribes to the feed in question.
  • /unsubscribe _url_: unsubscribes from the feed. You can also use all to unsubscribe from all feeds.
  • /list _page_index_: list subscriptions, default to page 1.
  • /help: shows this help message!

If you’re offline, it will IM you updates the next time you come on, so you don’t miss anything important. Hit the link to check it out.
