DIY Under-Cabinet LED Lighting With Fade Effects

If you’re tired of the dated fluorescent lighting in your kitchen (or lack for under-cabinet lighting at all) this how-to guide will help you add LED strip lights with a dimmer and fade effects.

Instructables user Esterill had nothing but headaches with his fluorescent under-cabinet lighting. Bulbs burned out too quickly, they flickered, and they tended to buzz loudly—sounds like he had old lamps with bad ballasts. Rather than rip out the lights just to replace them with more fluorescent lights he might hate equally as much he instead rewired the whole thing for LED strip lights hooked up to an Arduino chip to control them for custom fade and dimming effects.

Hit up the link below for a detailed walk through of his build and update your kitchen lighting with some 21st century magic.
