Fill Dresser Drawers From Front To Back Instead Of Top To Bottom

We’ve shared a lot of packing tips here at Lifehacker, but if you have just as much trouble keeping your clothes organised and wrinkle-free at home, weblog Apartment Therapy has a tip on how better to stuff your dresser.

Instead of folding your clothes and stacking them from the bottom of the drawer to the top, Apartment Therapy recommends putting them in sideways, so they fill the dresser from front to back:

Rather than stacking T-shirts, try “filing” them. As you can see in the [above]photo, I filed my colour T-shirts so I can easily assess which one I want. When items are stacked it’s invariably the one of the bottom that you want and getting to that one involves disrupting all the others…and that’s what leads to a messy drawer.

It’s a really simple tip, but if you have too many clothes for your dresser (or your dresser’s just too darn small), it could save you a lot of headache in the morning. And, if this still doesn’t help, maybe it’s time to start weeding out the clothes you don’t wear.
