If you've been hanging out for some Office 2010 action, you won't have to wait much longer: Microsoft has confirmed a June 15 date for general availability of the software in Australia. Just don't go looking for any upgrade discounts.
Business customers can purchase and download the software from today, but individual end users will need to wait for the June 15 release. Microsoft also confirmed at the business launch that there'll be no upgrade prices for existing users, so the already-announced prices will apply to all users.
The official MS explanation for this is that most customers prefer to buy the full version. Frankly, I don't believe it, and if $209 sounds like too much for an upgrade, there are plenty of free online and offline alternatives.
