Last October, both Domino’s and Pizza Hut announced plans to release iPhone ordering apps. Domino’s delivered on its promise in November and scored a whole bunch of orders, but the Pizza Hut app has only just appeared.
As Nick over at Gizmodo points out, neither chain is probably going to be your choice if you want a gourmet pizza experience, but there’s always times when convenience is just as big an issue. The app is a free download and also includes a racing game to pass the time while you wait for your delivery.

Retailers that are selling on line (not too many doing it well here in Australia) need to look at the way this application seamlessly integrates into the backend systems down to the Pepsi in the fridge. This is how end to end systems should work.. seamlessly.

Forgetting the fact that I prefer Domino’s over the Hut every day of the week, the app is just a bit better put together, with nice visual representations of the pizza, location specific info and an unmatched order tracker. Still, mayhap Pizza Hut can learn from Dominos and improve their app?
