MeatInAParkSummer’s here, and you want to spend your weekend burning steaks somewhere other than your backyard. Meat In A Park lets you find nearby public BBQ locations and promote your own BBQ plans via Facebook.

Enter your address and the site pops up a map showing nearby BBQs (within a 20km radius) and listing their facilities. The coverage is far from nationwide — most of the data comes from local council sites — but it’s a good start, and you can add details of your own favourite BBQ locations. The site uses Facebook Connect, so you don’t need a separate account. For another leisurely maps approach, check out Playground Finder.

That’s all very nice but what we need to know is where the clean ones that are actually hot enough to cook food are.

I tried searching for a barbie and none found.

Went to add one and it needed me to log in to Facebook. WHY???!!!
