Performance Test Pits Windows 7 Vs. Snow Leopard

With the Windows 7 release looming next week, tech site CNET decided that it’d be a good time to see how the two stack up against each other. It may seem unfair that the tests use a MacBook Pro booting Snow Leopard and Windows 7 in Boot Camp, but whether or not that mattered, the results are fairly balanced.

OS X did better on multimedia multitasking (and slightly better on boot time and shutdown time, though no one really cares that much about those), while Windows 7 unsurprisingly outdid Snow Leopard on 3D image rendering and gaming benchmarks. [CNET]
