The race that stops a nation takes place next Tuesday, and gadget junkies can add a little techno-flare to the occasion with the official Melbourne Cup iPhone application from the Victoria Racing Club.
The free application promises “news and events, form guide and a Flemington racecourse map”. Part of me suspects you could find all that pretty fast using Google, but there is also an office sweeps organiser, a photo sharing feature and a bunch of race trivia. What is a bit worrying is that the VRC wants $3.99 for it. Then again, if you’ve spent that much on a hat . . .
