Make A Rolling Tool Chest From A Discarded Dresser

A rolling tool chest is a functional way to store your tools, but it’s not always the most attractive option for your home if it needs to inhabit a space where it’s always on display. A rolling dresser addresses this problem nicely.

Monica Ewing of the home decor weblog Craftynest was in need of tool storage inside her San Francisco apartment. Like any good crafter with a repurposing mind, she found a starting point for just $US10—a dresser that had definitely seen better days. Although, it was in a sad state of affairs before, a little paint, primer and hardware can go a long way, and she’s created a functional place to keep her tools in order.

Ewing also used some simple drawer organisers and hardware from IKEA, plus casters that allow the unit to roll from place to place. She did some basic repair to the piece before beginning, which will help it hold up to the weight of her tools overtime.
