Wellington Gets Transit Information On Google Maps
Google Maps offers public transport information for Perth, Adelaide , Canberra and a tiny fragment of Sydney. Now New Zealand is in on the action, with the Greater Wellington area incorporating public transport information.
From a geek perspective, that’s a welcome addition, since next year’s Linux.conf.au will take place in Wellington. The service covers trains, buses, ferries and the Wellington cable car — which should prove to all of Australia’s east coast capitals that it can be done if you put your mind to it. (Complexity isn’t an argument either, given that the option has long existed in San Francisco.)
