Reader szekelya’s netbook desktop keeps things simple with a dock for launching applications easily, and moves all of the useful system information into a tiny stripe at the bottom of the screen.

The desktop is a combination of:

Even if the desktop as a whole isn’t what you are looking for, moving the system information into a tiny stripe at the bottom (or top) of the screen is an interesting idea — that could probably be improved upon by some of our desktop-modifying readers. Great job, szekelya!
