Pingdom Uptime-Monitoring Service Now Offering Free Accounts
The popular web site uptime-monitoring service Pingdom is now offering free accounts.
The free account provides monitoring for a single web site and unlimited email alerts. If you want to monitor multiple sites and have access to the advanced features you’ll still need a premium account.

Been using Pingdom the past week - as soon as they had free accounts. Great service and gives you details like the response code and page content when there's a problem.

i prefer AMSU. Chris Coyier has had this little pet project for a while and it works great. The free plan offers alot more than Pingdom's (i.e. multiple sites). It's dead simple to use, as well.
