The fav icon count is still broken for me 100% of the time, after 20 page refreshes, "Wooley" changed the icon to a somewhat shaded icon, but there is no count at all.
"Bogs" adds the count, but I have 22 unread emails, and it ALWAYS says "0," and it has said that for months now.

Some say you can fix these problems if Greasemonkey was installed and I chose some option in the menu, but I shouldn't have to install 2 extentions just to get the count!

    Please fix this madness!

Awesome. I LOVE this add-on - I use it with the perminant tab guide a week or two back. Keep it up!

@peterwooley: Thank you! it was the Hide Unread Count labs option I had enabled. This is so useful now!

@mixxster: The two common issues with a Zero count is with the Favicon Picker addon (it doesn't allow the icon to be updated regularly) and using the Hide Unread Count Gmail Labs feature (it hides the number used to discover the count).

Do you have either of those enabled? If not, I'd like to try to replicate your issue. What Firefox version & OS are you using?

I'd love it if there was a way to get the unread favicon to count all unread messages, instead of just those in the inbox.

One feature i love to see in this is, to highlight or change the tab colour when receiving any new chat message to notify
