Weave 0.6 Updates With New Look, Performance Boost, Sync

Firefox only (Windows/Mac/Linux): Mozilla’s in-house syncing extension, called Mozilla Weave, updated today with a new, polished UI for setting up and configuring your sync preferences, “major performance improvements”, better error handling, and support for syncing Personas, Firefox’s on-the-fly theming add-on.

Comprehensive browser sync is near the top of our Firefox wishlist, and Mozilla Weave is the extension that aims to do that. Weave currently supports syncing your bookmarks, forms, history, passwords, preferences, tabs, and now, Personas. And while this update is nice, it’s still short of the pie-in-the-sky sync we’re looking for. (When will we get that elusive extension sync, Mozilla?)

That said, Weave is clearly being actively developed, and between the performance updates, addition of Personas sync, and the extra spit-shine (tweak your Weave settings at any time by entering about:weave in the address bar), it’s a solid horse to bet on. Weave is a free download, works wherever Firefox does.

    @Ph0Xy: I avoid the lags by only logging in once or twice a day (usually at the end of the working day) to sync and then logging back out.
    I also like the new interface, but find it a little confusing. It's harder to find the options that were previously in one place. Now I don't know if I should click the cloud, the computer or the link.

    this has been working great for me for awhile now (I was using the 0.6 beta).

    No major problems - sync is many times faster than the original 0.1 release, but yes, I would like to have extension sync as well...

    Weave is great, but I still don't remember my passphrase, so it's pretty useless.

    I tried it today. It never synced. Had to go back to v0.5.1 because it trashed everything. I'll give it a few days before updating.

    The new interface is a very helpful and welcome addition. Weave is definitely something I recommend to my friends.

    Woah, amazing new interface.
    Also, everytime they say there's a performence boost but I still get major lags when it syncs :(
