Try Out Wikipedia’s New Look In Beta

If you’re a frequent surfer of the mass-edited encyclopedia, now would be a good time to register for a user account. With it, you can enable Wikipedia’s new beta skin/theme, which gives a slicker feel to reading and editing.

Anyone visiting a Wikipedia page, or any of Wikimedia’s project sites, will now see a “Try Beta” link at the top of the page. You’ll still need an account to log in and enable the “Vector” skin, but it seems worth it, as each page’s tabs and actions get a more modern look without adding any page heft. Editing, in particular, becomes easier for newcomers with an advanced toolbar, easy special character input, and a few other tweaks.

Try it out, and tell us what you think of Wikipedia’s slightly new look, in the comments.

  • I’m really digging this new theme! Wikipedia should have updated ages ago though.
