Queensland Citytrain Wi-Fi Inches Closer

We already know that Brisbane has non-existent Wi-Fi options at stations, but plans to offer Internet access on stations and trains are slowly taking shape.

Renai LeMay and Liam Tung at ZDNet report that a request for information document for the service has been released, confirming it will be used to automatically transfer security camera footage as well as enabling everyone on the train to check the news headlines while travelling.

That’s an important step forward in the plans, which were first announced in April. It still means we’re some time off actually getting the service, though Queensland-bound commuters can take advantage of free Wi-Fi at Airtrain stations.
