Setting Gmail to always use a secure connection (connecting with https://) is a good idea for many reasons, but doing so had, for a long time, prevented users of Google’s customised iGoogle pages from accessing their Gmail.
As of two days ago, however, iGoogle seemed to start accepting Gmail over secure connections. That’s good news for anyone whose iGoogle page had a notable missing element, or occasional users sick of Google’s warning message. Thanks Travis!

It only seems to work on google.com not google.com.au

Doesn’t seem to be rolled out to the Aussie iGoogle yet, though it’s working again on the US iGoogle.
