FlashCardMachine Helps You Create, Share, Find Flashcard Sets
Flashcards, a staple of route memorisation and test prep, don’t have to take the form of dog-earred 3×5 cards. FlashCardMachine makes it easy to create custom flashcards with a variety of playback methods and media.
At FlashCardMachine you can create your own flashcards, share flashcards, and search through the flashcards that other people have shared. You can create flashcards that have pictures and audio included, a handy feature when learning a foreign language or obscure medical terms. When you share your flashcards you can set the stack to read-only, which allows other people to use the flashcards without having to register for a FlashCardMachine account.
Flashcard playback can take several forms. You can use the website to playback the flashcards and specify if they’ll playback in random, ascending or descending order and whether you want the term first then the definition or the reverse. You can export flashcards to your iPod but the process requires the $US19.99 iStudyToGo software which strangely only works on Windows and only with the iPod Classic/Mini/Nano which unfortunately cuts a big chunk of the iPod market out.
FlashCardMachine is free and requires an account to access most of the flashcard sets and to enable flashcard creation and saving. Have a flashcard tool you love? Share it in the comments below.
