NICTA Puts Open Source Projects In One Place

You may never have heard of NICTA (the national ICT centre of excellence), but if you’re an open source enthusiast, you’ll likely be drooling at the new centralised open source portal it has just launched.

The new OpenNICTA site gathers together the 11 open source projects NICTA has launched to date. The most commercially successful has been the OKL4 microkernel, which NICTA estimates is used in more than 250 million handsets. Not much of it is everyday consumer stuff, but it’s a notable addition to the local (and global) open source community.
