Metlink Offering Cheaper Tickets Online

OK, it’s only a 5% discount, it only applies to value tickets (weekly, monthly and five/ten ticket bundles) and you have to order between July 26 and August 8, but any chance to save money on public transport is not to be sneezed at. Melbourne already has some pretty good value options, but this could stretch your travel dollar even further. [Metlink via OzBargain]

  • yes, but when will the system be rolling over to myki? (Grrr..)

I would buy a few monthlies, but don’t want to be stuck with an unusable ticket. However, with the delays… hard to believe they are starting to put myki scanners on the busses now.

  • Myki is many months off, and there’ll be an overlap period and based on past experience, an opportunity to exchange unused Metcards for new tickets.

So don’t hold back, stock up.

Note also if you’re after Yearly tickets, these can be got at a discount. (Disclaimer: I’m involved with this mob.)
