INeedThingsDone.Com Solicits Bids For Small Household Jobs

Need a simple household repair done but don’t want to pay a huge callout fee? INeedThingsDone.com lets you post examples of work and accept bids from individuals to get the task done.

Founder Luke Hepburn set up the site when his mother couldn’t find an affordable tradesperson to do some basic plastering. Hunting down a bargain doesn’t necessarily make sense if you need a registered professional like an electrician, but could be a useful strategy for more straightforward tasks like rubbish removal. The site requires registration and charges $US3.50 per job listing for a basic entry, but Lifehacker readers can enter the code lifehackerOZ to get four listings for free. Got experience with the site, your own preferred technique for getting work done cheaply? Share it in the comments.
