DIY IKEA Watering Can Lampshade

At $2.95, the IKEA Vallo is a pretty cheap watering can. Turns out it’s an even cheaper (but surprisingly effective) lampshade.

At IKEA Hacker, Carlo details how he converted the Vallo into a lamp. Since the container isn’t heatproof, it’s more suited to mood lighting than making your workspace ergonomic, but it’s a neat bargain decorating trick nonetheless. For more novel approaches to room lighting, try making a lamp from a tripod, a traffic cone or an IKEA artist’s dummy.
